How to

How to make perfume last longer in Pakistan

Most people lose hours of wear to three habits: spraying on dry skin, rubbing the wrists, and storing the bottle in the bathroom. Fix those and a good fragrance lasts all day.

Nine habits that add hours

  1. Moisturise first. Fragrance clings to hydrated skin and slides off dry skin. An unscented lotion or a little petroleum jelly on the spray points adds two to three hours.
  2. Spray after a shower. Warm, slightly damp skin has open pores and holds scent longer. Dress after spraying, not before.
  3. Choose warm spots. Chest, neck, behind the ears, inside the elbows. These pulse points radiate heat and push the fragrance outward all day.
  4. Do not rub. Rubbing wrists together crushes the top notes and speeds up evaporation. Spray and leave it.
  5. Use fabric. One spray on a collar, scarf or the inside of a jacket lasts for days. Test on dark fabric first with sweet fragrances, which can mark.
  6. Spray less, not more. Overspraying does not add hours, it adds volume. Two or three sprays of a strong Arabian fragrance is a full day.
  7. Store it properly. Heat, light and humidity break perfume down. Keep the bottle in its box in a wardrobe, never in the bathroom or on a sunny shelf.
  8. Layer smartly. A matching or unscented body lotion under the fragrance builds a base that extends everything on top.
  9. Pick the right concentration. Eau de Parfum lasts longer than Eau de Toilette, and Extrait longest of all. Almost everything we sell is EDP or Extrait for exactly this reason.

Questions about this

Usually dry skin, application on the wrists only, or a light concentration. Moisturise, spray the chest and neck, and choose an Eau de Parfum. Very dry Pakistani winters and very hot summers both make skin drier than you think.
Yes, significantly. Fabric does not absorb fragrance into the body the way skin does, so a spray on a collar can last through several wears. Test dark fabric with sweet, coloured fragrances first.
Two. One on the chest, one on the neck. It projects for hours and more only makes it louder, not longer.
