Oud ranges from soft and creamy to smoky and animalic. If this is your first oud, start with Oud Roses, where Turkish rose wraps the wood and keeps it approachable. For something that fills a room, Marj and Bin Shaikh are the serious, occasion-grade ouds from Ahmed Al Maghribi.
